 HISTORICAL TIMELINE

(This does not affect the world lore directly, but can be used for users to formulate their characters history. This will not be referenced much in the new world lore.) 

1.  1983 — The First Recorded Signal

   Several monitoring stations detected a strange low-frequency sound moving through the atmosphere. Witnesses described it as:

   • A distant horn

   • Metallic scraping

   • Thunder that never fully arrived

   Officials blamed aircraft activity and atmospheric pressure. However, the recordings continued far longer than any known sonic boom. The original tapes were transferred to an unknown research department. Most were later reported missing. ---

2.  2004 — The Unidentified Transmission

   A private observation station detected a repeating signal from beyond Earth’s atmosphere. The transmission:

   • Contained no recognizable language

   • Repeated at exact intervals

   • Continued for 9 hours

   • Disappeared without explanation

   Staff were ordered to classify it as equipment interference. Three copies were believed to have survived. ---

3.  2029 — Project Farwatch

   Multiple nations launched Project Farwatch, an orbital observation program created to track:

   • Meteorites

   • Space debris

   • Objects entering Earth’s atmosphere

   Within its first year, Farwatch detected several objects that appeared to slow down or change direction without visible propulsion. Most incidents were dismissed as tracking errors. ---

4.  2102 — Formation of the Threshold Division

   The Threshold Division was officially established to investigate threats and discoveries beyond ordinary science. Its responsibilities included:

   • Tracking unusual objects in space

   • Investigating unexplained atmospheric events

   • Responding to unknown biological materials

   • Preparing for large-scale environmental disasters

   • Containing dangerous objects or organisms

   The Division later separated into:  Safeguard Branch and the Directive Branch

   The Safeguard Branch accused Directive researchers of hiding information from a civilian medical investigation. Several patients reported:

   • Shared dreams

   • Strange sounds

   • Memories of places they had never visited

   The Directive Branch claimed it was caused by mass psychological stress.

   All patient records were sealed.

6.  2159 — The Ruins Beneath the City

   Construction workers discovered ancient stone structures beneath one of the city’s industrial districts. The ruins:

   • Did not match known historical records

   • Were buried at an unusual depth

   • Contained markings resembling astronomical diagrams

   The Threshold Division sealed the excavation and declared it structurally unsafe. The buildings above it were later converted into restricted research facilities. ---

7.  2187 — The First Crash

   One night, a violent crash shook the woodland beyond the city. Emergency crews discovered:

   • Broken trees

   • Deep impressions in the earth

   • An uneven trail leading deeper into the forest

   There was:

   • No wreckage

   • No visible crater

   Before sunrise, the Threshold Division sealed the area. This marked the arrival of the unidentified creature. No one understood that at the time. ---

8.  2187 — The Deleted Broadcast

   Days after the woodland crash, astronomical stations announced the detection of a massive unidentified object beyond Earth’s orbit. Independent observers claimed: It had changed direction and appeared to be approaching deliberately. A news broadcast showed a blurred image of a dark shape surrounded by light. By the next morning:

   • The broadcast was gone

   • Articles disappeared

   • Recordings vanished

   • Search results were removed

   The Threshold Division gave no explanation. ---

9.  2187 — THE ARRIVAL

   The meteorite entered Earth’s atmosphere and crashed into the city with catastrophic force. The impact:

   • Injured dozens of residents

   • Awakened dormant abilities

   • Caused nature to rapidly spread across the region

   Ancient ruins, medieval structures, industrial remains, and forgotten pieces of history began rising from beneath the earth. Those changed by the impact were classified as:
